Sarah Loves to Sew

Sarah set up her brand and company SarahLovesToSew, after returning to one of her childhood loves – sewing. Brought up in a family of seamstresses (and pretty formidable women) on her maternal side of her family, Sarah went on to study textiles, fashion and dressmaking and has a degree in design.

She was brought up in the gorgeous countryside of North Wales and still enjoys being in nature. Sarah came to Bristol in 2000 and has had 20 years working in regional journalism under her belt – working in many different roles including editor of West Country Life magazine.

She lives in Bristol with her husband and two children –  and loves making beautiful handmade clothes/homeware and decorations that bring joy to her family, home and customers. After being made redundant from newspapers Sarah worked for the TV and film industry for a year, as a TV extra. Despite loving the creative process – and the costumes – Sarah decided the late notice, travelling and long hours weren’t for her at the current time with two young children, so is now focussing on taking her sewing business to the next level, by building a community – online and in local workshops – for people who want to sew, providing them with kits and projects, sew-alongs, creative space, support, tutorials and a fun social space to sew.
