Approximate size 7 cm across x 5 cm high. Many enamel coats upon a copper bowl.

Enamelling involves adding layer upon layer of powdered glass. This gives a depth of colour to any piece, on both sides of the bowl. It is fired in a kiln many, many times. Between each firing, the bowl is cooled and cleaned. Each piece takes many hours to make and is individual. There are some irregularities as in any piece of art, but this adds to the unique nature of each of my pieces.

Enamel work is always a challenge to photograph. It has so many reflective surfaces, textures and colour tones . There may be some difference from the photos on screen.
I am always happy to answer any questions.

Jane Wills Enamels

Jane has been working with enamels for over 10 years, largely self taught, and inspired by wonderful enamelling work in the UK and abroad. She loves to experiment with colour, texture and new techniques. Enamelling on copper at high temperatures allows her to produce work, which is organic, unique and can lead to various unexpected results. Jane works from a small studio at her home in Bristol and has exhibited on many Arts Trails and Events in the Bristol and Bath area and a number of shops . Her ‘specialities’ are enamelled copper autumn leaves, small bowls, trinket dishes and jewellery. Jane also works with fine silver. She is always looking to create new designs.
